South America though not the largest continent in the world, still makes up quite a bit of the worlds surface area considering how large the Earth is. South America is roughly 17,840,000 kilometers in area. Though it may not be the largest continent in the world, it certainly has plenty of the world’s records.
If you are planning on going to South America for a vacation, then you should try to visit some of these locations.
Angel Falls, the highest waterfall in the world.
The Andes, the world’s largest mountain range.
But, the one that you should want to visit the most is the Amazon Rainforest. The Amazon Rainforest has thousands upon thousands of different species. In the Amazon you may never know exactly what you will see.
South America is the perfect place to go for a tour. There are many different countries that are world famous in South America. A few of these are Costa Rica, Peru, Ecuador, and even the Galapagos Islands.
Costa Rica, besides being one of the most well known vacation areas, it is also a very beautiful place. There are all sorts of different kinds of activities. From hiking to going on tours through national parks, Costa Rica has just about everything.
If you want to go to Peru, you should plan on visiting the ancient Incan dwellings. The Incans ruins are a very fascinating thing to see. You get to see how the Incans used to live. After that if you want you can take a nice hike to Machu Picchu.
This is also where the Amazon is located. As previously stated you will get to see many animal species. But also you may even get a chance to meet the people who still live in the Amazon.
Another great place to visit is the Galapagos Islands. The Galapagos Islands is the place where Charles Darwin studied his theory of evolution. He discovered the Galapagos Islands and the various species that lived there. He found all these species fascinating.
At the Galapagos Islands, you too will see a large variety of species. Here you will be able to snorkel with animals such as turtles. But remember, one of the most common species that is only living on the Galapagos Islands is the Galapagos giant tortoise.
So when planning your next vacation, try going to all of these listed places and you will have one of the best vacations you could possibly imagine.
