I am just back from Paris where I have taken my Kindle 2. Well, first of all there is no reception – the Kindle does not connect to a wireless network. So whatever books you want to buy you need to buy them before leaving abroad. I was lucky to download the Paris travel guide beforehand. The guide has a lot of information and is well organized. I found myself using the guide a lot. The guide has readable maps, a good phrasebook, nice photographs of attractions. The feature I found most useful is “text-to-speech”. I would go to a museum or a building and just turn on the text-to-speech feature. The guide really becomes an audio guide with the text-to-speech feature.
