I’m am not a runner, not by a long shot. In fact, I avoid running and jogging like politicians avoid straight answers. So when I heard about Atlanta Running Tours, my first thought was “Huh? You want people to pay to run and get hot and sweaty and tired just to see attractions they can [...]

This weekend, while visiting Davis, we finally had the opportunity to explore this California original and I am pleased to report, this [...]

Cemetery Tour in New Orleans

It wasn’t until 6 years after Hurricane Katrina that I first set eyes on New Orleans, so I have no pre-existing condition against which to compare her current state. I can, however, tell you that today the city is alive, beautiful, and bursting at the seams with things to see and do. One interesting thing [...]

I was recently invited to Baltimore by their tourism board in order to learn more about the events the city had planned for the Civil War Sesquicentennial. That meant visits to Fort McHenry and other sites with a strong tie to American history. While this was a terrific learning experience for me, it gave me [...]

Most visitors to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama are lured by the gorgeous white sand beaches of the Gulf Coast. Tour of the Jungfrau Region (Cicerone Guide) (Paperback)

Review
‘An interesting long circular walk for those who have done the Tour of Mont Blanc and want to find a route that is less crowded. There are bad-weather alternatives, and shortside walks. As always with Kev Reynolds, the introduction is comprehensive. This route (or part of it) could, I think, be used for an Alpine debut.’ Irish Mountain Log Magazine, Summer 2006
Product Description
Making a horsehoe loop among some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in all the Swiss Alps, the brand new “Tour of the Jungfrau Region” is destined to become one of the classic walks of Europe. In a journey of 9-10 days the walker visits pastures, ridges, summits and passes, skirts exquisite mountain lakes, and gazes on waterfalls, gorges and glaciers – all in the shadow of such iconic peaks as Wetterhorn, Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau. Accommodation is both plentiful and atmospheric, and the route has lots of bad-weather alternatives. Despite the nearby presence of popular resorts like Grindelwald, Wengen, Lauterbrunnen and Murren, “The Tour of the Jungfrau Region” explores some suprisingly remote landscapes, including part of a World Natural Heritage site.

Whether you are planning to travel abroad with your children or simply to expose them to foreign countries, Ciao Bambino! will provide a starting point. Bonus, you may learn a few Italian words and novelties on the adventure. Pronunciation and translation guide provided at the back of the book.
From the Author
With a four year old son and a one year old daughter, my personal goal was to write a book for preschoolers that exposed them to Italian language and cultural novelties, but was more than another picture dictionary. It had to be fun and engage the preschooler with familiar things from home, while sharing novelties from another country. Beautifully illustrated in original watercolor art, the 36 page book shares a tour of Italy through a child’s scrapbook. Throughout the fictional story, the young boy and his teddy bear travel companion share their travel adventure, and teach twenty five Italian words along the way. Fantastico!
